Anahata Chakra : the centre of compassion

Mandala Yoga Ashram was founded in 1986 by Swami Nishchalananda Saraswati to teach and propagate classical Yoga to all people without consideration of class, religion, race or gender. It was inspired by his guru, Swami Satyananda Saraswati, and the system of Yoga formulated by him.

• Take a unique opportunity to explore and deepen you meditation practice on the 1-year Meditation Training Course beginning in september 2008.
• There are a full range of Yoga Courses at the Ashram each year.
• The Ashram offers a list of high quality Yoga Teachers trained by the Ashram.

The Ashram provides an ideal place to learn and practice Yoga and is dedicated to helping spiritual seekers go deeper in their experience of Yoga and their understanding of themselves. In this way it offers a positive contribution to improving the quality of life for the individual, family, and society.

It is an independent charitable institution that has close links with the Bihar School of Yoga and is accredited to the British Wheel of Yoga. It nestles in 25 acres of beautiful and isolated hill country in South Wales.

Anahata (Heart) Chakra is the centre of compassion which awakens through yoga. This logo is the chosen symbol for Mandala Yoga Ashram as we feel it to be the most important quality needed in the present era.

The Spiritual Head is Swami Nishchalananda.

The Ashram emphasises the importance of awakening feminine qualities such as Caring, Unconditional Love, Compassion and Intuition. Embodying these qualites, the Spiritual Mother of the Ashram was Swami Sivadhara from 1986-97, and Swami Neel Kamal from 1997-2001.
