Ashram Life

The following gives you a flavour for life in the Ashram. It is to be emphasised however it is all very well to read about Ashram life but you really need to come and experience it on all levels.
You may also like to read Swami Nishchalananda's article The Place of an Ashram in the Modern World.

In the practice/ meditation hall a flame is kept burning. This is the Akhanda Jyoti (the Eternal Flame) which symbolises the Light and Consciousness which ever illumines the core of our existence.
Above the Akhanda Jyoti is the Shree Yantra (lit., ‘the Blessed Mystical Diagram’) which symbolises the ineffable relationship between the manifest and the Unmanifest, between the material universe and the underlying Substratum, and between the immanent and the Transcendental.
